Plated Landscapes Hog Roast at Spice Acres

July 2, 2015

I had the pleasure of shooting (and eating) at the first Plated Landscapes dinner of 2015.  This year’s dinners kicked off with a hog roast at their Spice Acres Farm in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Before we get to all the pictures, let’s pause to remember Maxell.  He was a good hog.  Good and tasty.

Typically, these dinners are several courses that start out with a cocktail and appetizer before settling at a beautifully set table for the evening.  This year looks to be a bit different.  The early courses were set up as part of a walking tour of the farm.  Each station had something wonderful to eat, along with a paired wine.  It gave guests a chance to see the farm and learn a bit about the process of bringing locally sourced foods to the table.  The tour ended at the barn for a family style, sit down dinner.

I say it every year and I’ll say it again – Spice of Life is fantastic.  Get yourself to one of these dinners.  Get yourself to their Spice Kitchen + Bar Restaurant.  It’s great food by great people.
