It’s hard to believe that an empty chair at a wedding almost a year and a half ago led to me eventually being Ann and Chris’s wedding photographer. That evening I was just looking for a place to sit during dinner and their table had an open seat. We had casual dinner conversation as I ate at wedding photographer speed. Not long after, Ann got in touch with details about her own wedding. That led an an Engagement Session, a Beautiful Session and little black book that Chris got as a wedding gift, and then their wedding just a little over a week ago.
Ann is a firecracker of a Southern Belle. Chris is a stoic northern gentleman – who can bust a mean move to “Call Me Maybe”.
Their wedding took place inside the beautiful University Circle United Methodist Church. Definitely one of the best looking churches I’ve been in and I can’t wait to see it after it gets renovated. After the ceremony we wandered across the street to the grounds of the Cleveland Museum of Art and took formal pictures. The weather was perfect considering that rain had threatened for most of the morning. Once pictures were done, it was walk over to the Ballroom at Park Lane to kick off an evening of fun and dancing! The night ended with a lantern release in memory of those that couldn’t be with the couple for the wedding. It was the perfect way to end an perfect day.
I received a Thank You note not a week after the ceremony. I’m hoping Ann won’t mind…
“Your ability to capture the emotion of the moment is truly what sets your work in a class of it’s own. Thank you for making an awkward girl feel romantically beautiful…”
Comments like that are what I love about photographing people and weddings. Capturing the emotion of the moment. I’m looking forward to capturing more moments with Ann and Chris as they grow together.
